DESIGN COMPETITION aims to support young designers in the early stages of their careers, in the encounter with the world of production and already established designers. The goal is to give visibility to their talent and facilitate their entry into the world of work.
 
Businesses have the opportunity to turn innovative ideas into concrete proposals by young designers and business ideas into prototypes and marketable engineerable. The goal is to spread the culture of design in business processes increasing competitiveness of Lombardy companies in international markets.

SCIROCCO is a food dryer attractively designed it wants to propose an alternative system of storing food, respecting the nutritional values without alteration. Drying is a natural practice dating back to the Egyptians, they understood the potential and benefits of the sun. Today, as then, we propose a steeped in tradition object also in its materials. The simple design allows us to place it where we want and turn it on, even at a distance, thanks to its app. Wherever you want SCIROCCO will be one of the house.
Food preservation by means of heat has assumed considerable importance in the production of foodstuffs, particularly if one takes into account the effect that high temperatures have on the microbial flora of any product. The heat acts on microorganisms by inhibiting the multiplication first, then going up to higher temperatures, killing coagulation (moist heat) or by oxidation (dry heat) of their protein components / 
 
Drying is the (almost complete removal of water, with the use of heat), dehydration or concentration (partial removal of water, with the use of heat), lyophilization (technique used without use of heat, but bringing the ‘food at -30 ° C or - 50 ° C and subsequentlyin a sealed chamber in which the vacuum is done, the diversion of water in the form of steam, while maintaining the original characteristics of the product). Treatment that is intended to prevent the multiplication of microorganisms acting on their needs free water / 
 
 
 
- APPLICATION -
 
 
Scirocco, is not showed as an object with simple design, but also its use is simple, wherever you find, at home or away, the Scirocco will always be under your control
STEP # 1: Log in - using a recording activate the synchronization between the device and Scirocco Android / iPhone / Tablet; 
STEP # 2: be open - the default layout shows us the portals through which social sharing, learning; 
STEP # 3: use your menu - you will be presented a list of foods that you can dry up in the Scirocco; 
STEP # 4: choose you food - here you can find all the information for the drying of all foods; 
STEP # 5: select your food - once decided to select one or more foods; 
STEP # 6: set the time - Renting in the menu you can decide when Scirocco will start working and you can do this anywhere in the digital time of day wherever you are; 
STEP # 7: view all food - displays all the foods that you entered in the Scirocco; 
STEP # 8: let’s dry - Scirocco move into function; 
STEP # 9: finished - Scirocco alerts you when food is ready to be removed /
